Central Desert Training Pty Ltd was established in 2004 to develop, coordinate and deliver specialist-training services to Central Australians. The business focuses on training for Indigenous adults from both remote and urban communities who are commencing employment in the mainstream workforce. Training provided includes intensive pre-employment programs for the Australian Government Department of Defence, the Mining Industry, the Horticulture and Construction industries, Literacy and Numeracy training and support, specialist Information Technology training as well as mentor training and co-ordination services. Central Desert Training is a Registered Training Organisation capable of delivering Nationally Recognised Programs.

 

Training and consulting services delivered by Central Desert Training include:

  • Appropriate Language, Literacy and Numeracy pre-employment assessments
  • Basic literacy and numeracy training and support
  • Development and delivery of workplace mentoring programs
  • Training needs analysis in urban and remote Indigenous communities
  • Coordination of expos and events
  • Coordination of Trainees and New Apprentices
  • Project management and delivery of pre-employment courses
  • Development of customised training solutions for Indigenous adults
  • Liaison with key stakeholders, RTO’s and other operating department managers to ensure successful training project delivery
  • Supervision of training providers
  • Delivery of accredited and non-accredited training to students
  • Development of training resource material customised for the needs of Indigenous learners
  • Co-ordination and delivery of Workplace English Language and Literacy programs to urban and remote workplaces.
  • One-on-one coaching and mentoring of Indigenous students in life skills and personal development as required for their successful integration as new participants into the workforce
